Dr Kelali Adhana
Regional Coordinator – Eastern Africa
Kelali Adhana is a Director at the East African Regional Office of Astronomy for Development (ROAD), east Africa Branch office of International Astronomical Union (IAU). He received his PhD from the united Graduate school of Tottori University, Tottori, Japan in 2008.
Since then he has served as Director General for Tigray Science and Technology Agency, regional government advisor in science and technology, research ethics review board chair, Mekelle Institute of Technology Board member, council member of Agency for Micro and Small Enterprise.
In his technical capacity he has been a postdoctoral research fellow at African Technology Policy Studies based in Nairobi, Kenya; researcher in low carbon development paths, climate change and green economy; external examiner and lecturer at Mekelle University, Ethiopia; visiting Fellow of University of Foggia, Italy; regional coordinator for UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank and Government projects in one of the regional states of Ethiopia; central laboratory head, senior water management expert.
Currently he is also serving as a board chair of two professional associations, vice president of one association and member of several associations.
Dr. Kelali is currently based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
