Advisory Board Member – Green Entrepreneurship
Seth Akutson, holds a PhD degree in Economics from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria; where he taught for more than a decade. He is also a graduate of the University of Ibadan and the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; where he served as a senior visiting scholar. He’s been Head of Department & Director of Entrepreneurship Centre and was Head of the Research & Training Department of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria, Lagos. He has been involved in the Trilogy of Action Research with the DFID/British Council as a Senior Research Fellow with the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration and has worked with a number of International Non- Governmental organizations.
Seth Akutson has served as a visiting Professor at the University of Cape Town, South Africa and coordinates the Network of Entrepreneurs across the continent. He’s been a board member of Resource Associates Ltd for more than two decades and also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management [Chartered], Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Chartered Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Administration, European Business Competence Licensed and Life member of the Nigerian Economics Society among others. He has published scholarly articles in reputable journals & has facilitated and attended several workshops, training courses & conferences both within and outside the country. He is an itinerant Consultant and a one-time Principal Consultant with the OAU Consultancy Services Centre for about a decade.
Seth Akutson has been a World Bank Economic Advisor on Energy in the Federal Ministry of Power in the office of the Honourable Minister, he is also a Policy Consultant with the German Government GiZ and the Federal Ministry of Trade, Industry & Investment. He is an Independent Monitor, Facilitator & Supervisor of the Federal Government of Nigeria YouWin! Enterprise Innovation Programme.
Seth Akutson is a Faculty Member with the Kaduna Business School where he facilitates management theories and practices, Project management and IFC-World bank modules. He is currently working with Afrigrant Ltd, Nigeria on some consultancy assignments and also helping young entrepreneurs start-ups grow to maturity as well as the DFID/British Council–GEMS on building an Entrepreneurial hub for Nigeria in collaboration with the Growbridge Advisors, UK. He is currently working on green economics.
